Welcome to Save Equus

Save Equus is a not for profit, incorporated, horse welfare, intervention and rescue organisation. Save Equus is run by volunteers to care for and rehabilitate horses that have been the subject of abuse and neglect. Save Equus intervenes in situations of horse cruelty and neglect, sometimes with the assistance of the agents of the Animal Welfare Act 2002.

Rescued horses of all types come into the protection of Save Equus and need specialised attention to recover physically and emotionally from the effects of cruelty and neglect.

Save Equus is not located in one central place; it is a state of mind; an organisation of volunteers throughout Western Australia who believe in and support the Save Equus objectives.

In an average week Save Equus maintains responsibility for around 15 horses and undertakes approximately 10 interventions per week.
